SIDA Adolescent Project Coordinator

The role
The role
The Project Coordinator will ensure the effective coordination of this large-scale SIDA-funded Syria Adolescent Program (SAP). This is a multi-location, multi-sector project with a focus on adolescence and youth. The project is implemented directly and with local partners inside Syria and Lebanon. Whilst responsibility for the quality of programme delivery resides with the Syria Response Office (SRO) and Lebanon Country Office (CO), the Project Coordinator will support effective coordination of the overall grant with particular attention to contractual compliance and the provision of proactive support to the SRO and Lebanon CO as required.
The Project Coordinator will support the Senior Program Advisor to monitor implementation and performance against key indicators and burn rates; coordinate technical support with the Technical Working Group and act as day-to-day contact lead with RO, SRO / Lebanon CO; and lead on documentation including consolidated reporting to the Save the Children in Sweden and SIDA.
Qualifications and experience
Essential
Prior project management experience in an NGO, donor, government or consultancy environment
Prior experience of designing and/or delivering large-scale integrated programmes in fragile and conflict-affected countries
Proven ability to manage multi-location programmes
Strong experience in finance and budget monitoring, financial forecasting, and risk management
Demonstrable understanding of donor compliance
Experience in representing programme at a strategic level and engage with key stakeholders
Self-motivated and results orientated
Resilient self-starter able to manage through relationships in complex situations
Highly numerically articulate with a track record of data manipulation and reporting systems
Highly diplomatic with excellent political awareness and understanding
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience of successfully managing diverse relationships in complex situations
Proven track record of data manipulation and use of reporting systems
Demonstrable experience of strong oral and written communication skills
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
Desirable
Experience of working on SIDA-funded programmes, particularly in dynamic environments requiring flexibility in programme implementation
Post-graduate degree in international development or other social sciences
Experience of working and living in complex environments, ideally with professional experience in the Middle East
Contract length: 12 Months
